Located on the corner of Wabash and Monroe in downtown Chicago, the LeRoy Neiman Center is the first student center in the 150 year history of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). The LeRoy Neiman Center was made possible by a generous gift from Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Neiman–both alumns of the school.
As students and faculty use the center to come together, socialize, relax and collaborate, the logo reflects that spirit by overlapping cyan and magenta entities to create something new–purple. While any colors would be fine, the colors of the logo draw inspiration directly from LeRoy Neiman’s vibrant painting style. SAIC currently uses Meran as its main institutional typeface, and thus was used here as well.
